I produced this pen and ink collage for a Joe Leonard commemorative event at the San Diego Automotive Museum back in 2001. The image shows Leonard in action on motorcycles and cars. He excelled in both areas.
The main image shows Joe at the wheel of Andy Granatelli's STP turbine-powered Lotus 56 which he put on the pole in the 1968 Indy 500.
