In 2007 I stopped by the Volvo Car Clinic and asked George Gofas, the owner, about a 1989 740 Volvo Wagon that was in the parking lot. The car was going to the junkyard but I thought that it'd be a great car for the 23 Hrs, of Lemons, a series that was just starting. He liked the idea and we went racing. We called it Team Tango because all team members were from Argentina. George became the Chief Mechanic and eventually also a driver. We've racing the Wagon ever since with LeMons, Chumpcar and Lucky Dog. A lot of fun and camaraderie. Endurance races, usually 7 hours on Saturday and another 7 on Sunday, take a lot of preparation and we had success with our modest ride. We raced in Altamont, near Oakland, our first race, and then in Willow Springs, Buttonwillow and Auto Club Speedway in Fontana (both the infield and the Roval). The trusty Volvo got a few updates through the years and some of the team members changed, but this type of racing taught us a lot of things, patience among others. We hope we'll continue.
