''Fast Freddie'' Spencer aboard American Honda's VF750F Superbike winning the 1985 Daytona 200.
In 1985, the designated race class for the Daytona 200 became Superbikes switching from the Grand-Prix-style motorcycles. That year, Freddie Spencer, besides the 200, also won the Formula One and the International Lightweight races at Daytona and went on to win the 250 cc. and 500cc World Championships.
